You belong here, wherever you're starting from. We all come from unique backgrounds or we are just beginning on this learning journey. Questions are part of learning, and uncertainty is natural. What matters is that you come with an open mind and a humble heart, ready to listen and grow. This is a brave space for genuine curiosity and respectful learning.
Why this matters for all of us: While we each bring unique perspectives and experiences, we are interconnected through the Land we walk on and the communities we serve. Reconciliation is a shared responsibility towards First Nations, Métis and Inuit people. It is a responsibility that asks something of each of us and of our organization as a whole.
Practical development for our work: This session will help us understand how to speak about the true history of the Land we steward when engaging with volunteers, hike guests, and community members. We will explore approaches that honour truth, respect, and reflect the values of our organization. As Rainbow Routes embarks on building relationships, we are seeking to ground our work in a spirit of generosity and service. We are not here to extract or take.. we are here to listen and collaborate, in a way that is supportive of sovereignty and healing. This session will introduce what that looks like in practice.
We request that registrants attend with a humble approach and willingness to listen and understand.
