Join us on September 8th at the Biodiversity Reclamation Trail for a Nature Knowledge Walk with our guest, Manidoo Bineshii!

We will explore the trail and take a closer look at the plants and nature around us. Along the way, we’ll share what we know about nature and discover more about the plants that grow in our area. This is a chance to connect with nature, learn together, and see the trail from a new perspective!

Please note that this is not a foraging walk. The focus of this experience is on sharing knowledge about the plants and nature in the area. Rainbow Routes Association does not encourage participants to use information shared during this walk for foraging or harvesting.

Hike Details

When: Tuesday, September 8th, 2026

Time: 1:00 p.m  - 2:30 p.m.  (Please arrive 15 minutes early for registration)

Meeting Point: Living with Lakes parking lot (please consider taking GOVA Transit, or parking on site at Laurentian University)

Trail: Biodiversity Reclamation Trail

Length: 2 km

Duration: 1.5 hours

Guest: Manidoo Bineshii

Terrain: Natural, exposed rocks, exposed roots

Dress Code: Comfortable hiking shoes recommended, and please dress for the weather. Bring water

Hike Type: This will be a slow walk learning about the nature on the trail. Please be prepared to stop along the walk.

Transit passengers: From the downtown terminal take the bus #3 LU via Regent, at 12:30p.m and get off at Willet Green Miller stop around 12:51p.m.
