  • Elizabeth Street Parking Lot 506 Elizabeth Street Greater Sudbury, Ontario, P3E 2X7 Canada (map)

About the Hike

Our tree walk through Bell Park to the Northern Forest at Science North will explore for significant and memorable trees in the 100 year old park., Included will be some of the oldest trees in the park dating back nearly 100 years, the 10th M tree in the Regreening Program planted by Jane Goodall and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in 2022 as well as the Northern Forest established by Science North in 1984. Some of these trees should be considered as Heritage Trees. We will discuss the importance of trees in a park setting and in the urban forest. What are challenges to maintaining healthy trees , especially with climate change?
