About the Hike
It’s that time again for the annual Thanksgiving Walk in the Minnow Lake Oak Forest, a joint event between Rainbow Routes and the Minnow Lake Restoration Group. This popular 2 km hike is an enjoyable way to wrap up Thanksgiving weekend with impressive lookouts and autumn colours. The pace is relaxing and families are welcome.
Hike Details
When: Monday, October 12th, 2026 from 2:00 - 3:30 PM (please arrive 10 minutes early)
Meeting place: Parking lot of Minnow Lake Place, location of Rainbow Routes Association Office. 1127 Bancroft Drive, Greater Sudbury.
Terrain/Trail Surface: Natural, rocky, some paved sections
Length: 2 km
Dress: Dress for the weather, wear good hiking shoes, bring bottled water and please register.
Duration: 1.5 - 2 hours
Difficulty: Medium/Moderate - This trail is rocky, and does have a steeper incline at the beginning and can be slippery with leaves and acorns on the trail.
Hike Type: This hike is a slow paced hike with stops along the trail as our hike leaders will be sharing some knowledge along the trail.
