The Rainbow Routes April Hike Club will visit the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes shrine and the St. Nicholas Greenspace - two hilltop retreats with connections to Frederic Romanet du Caillaud. Join us Easter weekend and learn more about the “Count” and his legacy.

Celebrate Easter with an optional visit to the Laughing Buddha following the hike.

Hike Details
When:  Saturday April 4, 2026

Time: 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. 

Meeting place:   Frederick Street (entrance to the Grotto parking lot off Van Horne)

Distance:  5 km - there will be stops along the route

Difficulty: Easy

Terrain:  Mix of trails (some unmaintained), streets, sidewalks and stairs. It will involve some climbing

Dress:  Dress for early spring weather that may include a warm jacket, hats, mitts, and a good walking/hiking footwear.

Parking:   Frederick Street (entrance to the Grotto parking lot off Van Horne) or downtown parking.
