Hike Club

The RRA Hike Club is a great way to experience Greater Sudbury trails in a fun, safe and friendly environment. Led by an experienced hiker, different trails are selected for each hike to help you discover Greater Sudbury's trail network. Hikes typically run the first Saturday of each month and are free of charge. The location and flavour of each hike changes month to month and is dependent on seasons, hike leaders, and... well, whichever way the volunteer team takes it!

To help us run smooth events, online registration and waivers are required by each participant for each hike. By registering, you'll receive a reminder email the day before, and/or be notified of any last minute changes or cancelations. Hikes run in all but the very worst of weather so please come prepared with proper footwear and clothing.

We typically share details about future hikes two weeks in advance on our homepage, Facebook, and Instagram. We try to send email newsletter reminders when possible.

ABOUT THE HIKE

The Rainbow Routes April Hike Club will explore spring along Junction Creek, walk down memory lane in Gatchell and experience the new pedestrian trail to Dynamic Earth and the Big Nickel.  

When: Saturday, April 6, 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Please arrive 15 minutes early.

Distance: 6 km

Meet:  Greater Sudbury Hydro parking lot, 500 Regent Street, west side of Regent Street. 

**Carpooling/Smart Commute is recommended as parking is limited.**

Dress: Layer for weather. This hike is ideal for hiking boots.

Difficulty: Easy to moderate, urban sidewalks and walking trails with some hills and stairs.

Duration: 2 Hours.

Leaders: Peter Beckett & Paul Haynes

Pre-registration required.

Our hikes will generally accommodate anyone capable of walking on outdoor trails as per the above details. You'll find organizers wearing RRA dark blue vests at the event.
