2017 Trail Initiative: New Sudbury Multi-Use Trail

Download the New Sudbury Multi-Use Trail Proposed Map.

The Association is in full gear to undertake construction of 4 km of trail in 2017. Thanks to a Canada 150 Infrastructure Grant (FedNor), the Ontario Government, and Dalron Homes, we are well underway to advance this project. However, we are still in need of funding partners to meet project budget.  Contact us to find out more.

Now why this trail project? First, we are talking 4.0km - that makes for a great trip.  Second, we're connecting two post-secondary institutions with an active transportation opportunity offering over 80% trail commute. Third, the 2010 Green Space Advisory Panel offered a review of greenspace available to residents in 12 different Sudbury communities/service areas. Guest where New Sudbury ranked?  Second last with only 0.8 hectares per 1,000 residents, the rest averaging 4. This project will reduce this gap while connecting people to the Maley Conservation Area.
