EXPLORE Sudbury is the RRA's latest initiative towards healthy living and Greater Sudbury's urban transformation. Started in January 2017, our volunteer-driven program offers guided urban hikes of all sorts, geared to participants of all ages in the City of Greater Sudbury. All urban hikes are completely free of charge and a great way to discover Sudbury's people and places.

Sudbury Cycles

Sudbury Cycles is a program that promotes cycling courses, workshops and events offered by community groups and organizations, including the City of Greater Sudbury, Rainbow Routes Association, The Sudbury Cyclists Union, and Share the Road Coalition.

Trails4Life

Trails4Life provided free urban poling, snowshoeing, and cycling classes for seniors 55+ in Sudbury, Espanola, Massey, and Manitoulin Island. Along with obvious physical impacts, Trails4Life also included social impacts, such as the formation of new relationships with other users. It is because of these impacts that Trails4Life has been so highly regarded among users and organizers alike. The program ran from August 2014 to March 2016. For more information, our Community Report is available.

Learning Through Trails

Learning Through Trails was a free program targeting elementary children and teachers, that weaved the Ontario Ministry of Education cirriculum with Rainbow Routes trails. It was hosted by qualified professionals who engaged students in fields such as science, math, social studies, and the arts, while exploring local trails. The end goal was to assist teachers in developing the skills required to deliver lessons within a different environment, notably the outdoors.
