Lake Laurentian Conservation Area (LLCA) is a scenic natural area located only
ten minutes from downtown Sudbury. The LLCA provides a tranquil wilderness
setting which is easily accessible by car or bicycle. This area offers 2,400 acres
of protected green space in which to explore and enjoy the natural beauty of
Sudbury. It truly is a hidden gem within our city limits.
The LLCA offers four seasons of outdoor activities - hiking, biking, paddling, bird
watching, fishing, snowshoeing and groomed cross country ski trails. The area
provides boundless opportunities for users to experience northern Ontarioʼs great
outdoors. The Nature Chalet, a modern multipurpose facility, is centrally located
on the shores of Lake Laurentian. It is in close proximity to the public canoe
launch and also the main trail heads of our hiking trail system.
