There is actually a much older section of trail that is no longer shown on the maps, though the markers and signs are still there if you look hard enough. Some of the views from the top are absolutely stunning.

Could definitely use some clearing out, though!

Thank you Steve! The trail you are speaking of is an old trail that is on private property. So, it's not one that we can go in and clear up.

@ Chantal the Bridge was installed prior to the amalgamation of Greater Sudbury in 2001. It was installed by the former Town of Onaping Falls. The stairs are newer. If your call 311 and ask for the Parks Department, they might be able to give you an exact date.

The A.Y. Jackson Lookout offers a scenic view of High Falls as it cascades 55 m into the Sudbury Basin. A.Y. Jackson, one of Canada’s renowned Group of Seven painters, once captured this scene on canvas. The site offers three trails, including a self-guided Geological Walking Tour which is wheelchair accessible. The Welcome Centre has picnic areas.
